It was Halloween night. Jill and her friends Carly, Andrea, and Lucy were huddled in bed together, watching the horror film flickering on the television before them, illuminating the otherwise pitch black room.

As the girls tensed up, eyes glued to the screen, there was a sudden noise from downstairs. They all jumped and looked at each other.

“What was that?” asked Jill. She looked to the others, who all looked just as confused as her.
